MICRO TRIPS
w/ Bobby Lee

Bobby Lee is a musician, DJ, collector, designer and occasional writer based in Sheffield, UK. He fell hard for The Byrds as a wide-eyed teenager and has never quite escaped a sepia tinted, corduroy-and-faded-denim worldview. He performs sundazed guitar choogle under his own name, releasing records via Tompkins Square and Curation Records, and is a touring member of California Country Rock/Power Pop group, GospelbeacH.

Micro Trips explore, monthly, a different (possibly imaginary) micro-genre or scene, brief fad or record nerd shorthand. Some of these micro-genres may already exist as specific dark corners or dead ends of broader musical movements, but mostly they’re personal obsessions, inspired by a song or two, which sent Bobby down the rabbit hole looking for more things that fit the bill. 

Expect Freakbeat, Country Funk, Acid Folk, Yacht Rock, Sunshine Pop, Easy Glide, Cosmic Disco, Proto-Metal—all latter day names for brief periods of specific sounds, given new life by crate diggers, DJs and the irresistible human instinct to group like with like.
